Episode 8: The Best of Season One

This week's episode brings Season One to a close. As such, I decided we needed to highlight the best bits from previous episodes.

  • Kate Walter's woo-woo, wake up call (literally)

  • Kathy Hawn's dream and connection with her mom
  • The moment that Astra met her BFF at the age 5
  • Karen Dugan's feelings of being "different" and "that time" when she made all the pendulums in the shop swing
  • A perspective from a different generation from Sandhan
  • Tina Hayden's health challenge turned into growth and an opportunity to be of assistance to others
  • Synchronicity that led Laura Young to a love of labyrinths as well as healing experiences for herself and others.

This episode concludes season one. If you would like updates or to keep connected with us throughout our brief break, you can subscribe to our newsletter or connect with us on Facebook

We hope you enjoyed this season and will join us again next season.

Thanks for listening!

Episode 7: Sandhan: A Talk About Osho and the Spirituality of Abundance

This week Dawna's guest is Sandhan, Spiritual Business Shaman, Awakening, Abundance & Transformation Coach and a disciple of Osho.

Osho Quote

During this episode, the two discussed Sandhan's own spiritual awakening which ultimately led her to Osho. She was even among those who worked in his private residence. As well as abundance - including financial abundance - and how it can be a "spiritual thing".

If you would like to connect with Sandhan on Facebook:

And if you connect with her before the 1st of July, do ask about the 28 Day exploration of The Magic by Rhonda Byrne she and her group are hosting on the Accelerate Your Abundance Facebook group. There's still time to join! Just tell her "Dawna sent me".

Episode 5: Talking Labyrinths with Laura Young

This week, Dawna's guest is Laura Young, a docent of the Labyrinth program at the historic Brookgreen Gardens here in South Carolina.

In this episode, Laura shared with us the history and uses for labyrinths as well as the events they have coming up at the gardens. Labyrinths have been used to enrich the lives of autistic children as well as people in hospice. They have also been paired with Tai Chi and yoga practices.

Laura and the other docents at Brookgreen Gardens have a vision for the expansion of the labyrinth program. As a result they seek the assistance of musicians (think sound healing/instrumental), artists (to construct a mobile labyrinth on canvas), and Tai Chi and yoga instructors who are willing to volunteer their time to make that vision a reality. If you or someone you know would like to connect with Laura, she can be contacted via email.

Upcoming Events at the labyrinth at Brookgreen Gardens:

  • Summer Solstice Walk - Friday, June 21, 2019 - 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Join us as we welcome summer with a group labyrinth walk. The sun will reach its highest position of the year and share its light as we walk on Brookgreen's labyrinth in a beautiful, natural setting. We will gather at the Brookgreen layrinth at 11 am for the walk. If you are mobility-challenged, please be at the Lowcountry Center picnic table area by 10:45 am for transport to the labyrinth (subject to golf car availability). Please note: The event will be cancelled for safety reasons if there is substantial rain on or immediately before the day of the walk.

  • Memorial Walk - September 11, 2019
  • Children's Walk - October 26, 2019
  • Gratitude Walk - November 2019

Brookgreen Gardens does offer a monthly opportunity (3rd Saturday of each month, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm) to experience the Labyrinth with a Docent available to answer questions and introduce new walkers. "All are welcome!"

Stay tuned to the Brookgreen Gardens or The Pause pages on Facebook for more information on upcoming events!

Please note: Due to the fact that the labyrinth at Brookgreen Gardens is located on a creek, it is sometimes closed when weather conditions indicate safety concerns. For those who are interested in visiting the labyrinth, a quick call to the Welcome Center at 843-235-6000 can assist one in determining its current status.

For more information regarding labyrinths, which Laura shared with Dawna, please visit the Creatively Zen Studios/Publications blog.

Next week, Dawna's guest will be Tina Hayden of the Hayden Heals Foundation.

Episode 3: Melding the “Spiritual” with the “Mundane” with Karen Dugan

This week, Dawna's guest is Karen Dugan, the Master Healer, Teacher, and Speaker behind the Spirit of the Sands

In this episode, Dawna learned something especially important when recording and audio using an external mic. Do not wear a heavy necklace on that day. Why? Because it will inevitably knock against the mic every time you nod, shake your head, or laugh.

It's all a learning experience, right?

Join Dawna and Karen as they have fun together discussing: ornery spirit animals, strategies for melding the "spiritual" with the "mundane" as well as how to cope with the latter.

You can connect with Karen via the Spirit of the Sands Facebook page or by visiting the Spirit of the Sands website.

Next week, Dawna's guest will be Astra of Create Your YOUniverse.
